The boyfriend and I went to Hillsborough winery last night for their halloween party. This is the third year we've gone. As you can see from the picture, we dressed up. The boyfriend was a prince and I was a pirate. I've been a pirate for 3 years now. It's time to think of a new costume.

The party was a bit different then it has been in the past. This time there were a lot more drunk, wild people. There were three girls dressed as Britney Spears and they were being very trashy. They were drunk and letting most of the men feel them up. One of them spilled wine all over herself and lost a couple of buttons off her blouse. Maybe we're getting too old, but it was just too loud and too wild. We might have to think of a new party to go to next year.

Today is iPod's sixth birthday. I've had probably 6 iPods in as many years. My most recent one is just a week or so old. I got the new iPod Nano last week. This is my first iPod that shows video. I love it!

When were at the my father's this weekend the boyfriend took a nap. While he was napping, I took advantage of his vulnerability and made him look silly for this picture. He says I always want to embarrass him but I think it's just fun.

Oh, and that's my new iPod Nano on his forehead. hehehe

The boyfriend and I went to Charlottesville to visit my father and some area wineries. All along the drive we saw lots of fall colors but they looked muted, or dry. You can really see the drought all across the state. We did see a few very brightly colored trees though. But overall, it's just not the same this year. Here's a picture of one beautifully colored tree that was in my father's back yard. I took the picture in the early morning so you can still see the dew on the leaves. I think it's beautiful.

On Saturday evening the boyfriend and I had a wonderful dinner party. We had it at my place. We haven't entertained friends at my place for a very long time. Probably since my kitchen was renovated. We had five friends over to enjoy some delicious food the boyfriend prepared. He created a wonderful dinner around a huge pork loin. Of course he had lots of veggies that I didn't eat but our vegetarian friend certainly enjoyed them. It was really nice having friends over to enjoy a meal, some nice wines, and conversation. Do you think if Al Gore wins the Nobel Prize for peace tomorrow he'll reconsider a run? I sure hope so.

I know this is old news but it has been WAY too hot the last week or so. I think DC broke like four high temperature records in the last week. Yesterday it was 94! I can't ever remember it being this warm this late. I miss the cool crisp nights and the bearable days. I want fall to come back. It looks like it just might later this week. The high temp today was 82 so they are slowly dropping. It's supposed to be cool by this weekend. I can't wait!

This may be the best new show of the season. Did anyone else see the first episode? I couldn't pull myself away from it! I love it! Don't you agree? It's on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM on ABC. You MUST watch it.

I saw the most beautiful harvest moon last night. This picture isn't mine but it demonstrates what a harvest moon is. It shows the orange glow the moon takes on this time of the year. I'm sure there is a reason why but I don't know what it is. All I know is I love the look of the moon this time of the year. The moon will be full next week. It's only about 3/4 full now. I'm sure it will be spectacular next week. I wonder if it will have the orange glow.
