Happy Birthday To Me!
Today is my 43rd birthday. I had a wonderful birthday weekend with the boyfriend. He made it so special and made me feel so special. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

This is what happens when you let the boyfriend take control of the camera on the way home from a winery. All of these photos were taken by the boyfriend with my camera.

I talked about this on my podcast last week. But I have two students in my class who are the best of friends. I talked about how they hold hands and hang on each other all the time and how innocent their affection is at this age.

Today we went on a field trip and the whole time we were walking around these two were holding hands. I thought it was just adorable. They have no idea how this will change as they get older. And this has nothing to do with being gay at all. These are just two really good friends who show their affection by holding hands and hanging on each other. I know by next year they won't be able to do this and not have other kids say things to them. No one says anything to them now. It's very innocent and wonderful. I wish we could keep this innocence on into adulthood.

I must have slept on my back wrong last night. My lower back is causing some pain. It hurts to walk. So...what should I do?

I'm not upset at all that this homophobic, discriminating, bigot is dead. The only problem is there are plenty of others to fill his shoes. The moral majority is neither.

Last Saturday evening the boyfriend and I went to a blind Viognier tasting put on by a fellow wine blogger. We spent the evening tasting 10 different Viogniers from Virginia, Australia, California, Washington state, Argentina, and France. We rated each wine and chatted about what we thought of the wines. There were eight other peopel there doing the same thing. We had a great time visiting with our wine friends and tasting the wines. At the end of the evening we were able to guess where we thought the wines were from. I guessed three of the 10 correctly. Surprisingly, I guessed the most correct and won the prize of a bottle of wine. One couple there has a winery and they didn't guess any correctly. I was shocked. I think the ones I guessed correctly were by chance. I really had no idea where they were from. Anyway, it was fun winning the prize. Here I am with the bottle of wine I won. It's a Virginia cabernet franc. The boyfriend and I will enjoy it sometime.

The boyfriend and I took my mom out for lunch today. We went to Olive Garden. We hadn't been there for a very long time. We had a really nice time and I was stuffed by the end of the meal. I think my mother enjoyed it and had a good time. Having so many siblings, I was lucky to be the one to take her out this year. It was nice spending time with her. Here's a picture from lunch.
