Ingleside Winery

This weekend the boyfriend and I went to visit my artist friend, Bob. I've written about him before. He's an artist on the northern neck of Virginia. He sells his work on eBay and has helped me get started in the art world as well as on eBay. Check out his website and his work on eBay.

We arrived at his house early Saturday morning and spent about an hour working on artwork and talking art. The boyfriend spent the time catching up on his reading. After working on our artwork, Bob's wife, Jackie, had brunch ready for us. We had a nice time talking shop with Jackie and enjoying the delicious brunch.

After brunch we all went to Ingleside winery, which isn't too far from their house, and enjoyed a wine tasting and a bottle of their cabernet sauvignon. Below is a picture of the 4 of us enjoying our time at Ingleside.

Anniversary Weekend

Today is our one year anniversary. A year ago today we went on our first date even though we met in December 2004. It has been an amazing year. We have been to so many places, seen so many things, experienced many new things together and have really enjoyed our time together. Here's to many more years together! Happy Anniversary, Sweetie!

This is us in July when we were visiting Oasis Winery. I couldn't find any other pictures of us together besides Halloween. I'm usually behind the camera and he's usually in front of the camera. We'll have to work on that.

Romantic Dinner

On Valetine's Day I was treated to a rare event. The boyfriend came out to the suburbs to have dinner with me. We are both early risers so staying out late on a school night doesn't happen very often. When the boyfriend got here he had a box of chocolates for me. How sweet! I gave him a box of chocolates as well.

Before the boyfriend got here I made a call and got a reservation at a relatively new wine bar near my house. We went to the Idylwood Grill (their website sucks). They had a special menu for Valentine's Day. We had a four course meal with a different wine served with each course. We had lobster bisque, asparagus hollandaise, filet mignon, chicken florentine, chocolate cake, and creme caramel. With these foods we had a Cristalino Brut, a Sauvignon Blanc, a Pinot Noir, a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Moscato, and a Tawny Porto.

I was brave and tasted most things. I really enjoyed the filet mignon and the wine pairings. We took our time and enjoyed our conversation and the setting. We plan to return to the wine bar and check out their regular menu. We had a wonderful evening and I couldn't be more in love with my boyfriend then I am right now.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone and especially to my wonderful boyfriend. I love you, honey!

Snowy Weekend

It was a very snowy weekend. The snow started early Saturday morning and ended about 24 hours later. When all was said and done we had between 6 and 14 inches of snow. In DC where the boyfriend lives they had 8 inches. Out where I live it was closer to 12 inches. Today the boyfriend and I went out for a walk to enjoy the beauty and take some photos. Here are just a few. The first three are from the Cathedral grounds. The last one is of the boyfriend at Cafe Deluxe in DC. We decided to stop there for lunch while we were out walking. We had a wonderful weekend!

Barboursville View

Here is the view from Barboursville Vineyards in Charlottesville, Virginia. The boyfriend and I went there this weekend to visit a few wineries. Barboursville is one of our favorites and the view is spectacular.

Six More Weeks

Phil saw his shadow this morning so it's six more weeks of winter. That's fine with me because we've had one of the warmest Januarys on record. We only saw a trace of snow in January. We need to have at least one big snow before the winter is over. I think the coldest day was in the low 30s. Not much of a winter happening here.
