Happy New Year

Here's wishing everyone a very Happy New Year! Let's hope 2006 is better than 2005.
Beard

I had a photo shoot today with my artist friend, Bob. This model was very nice and provided us with some great photos for our artwork. Click on the link in the sidebar to see what artwork is up for auction on eBay.
Merry Christmas 2005

Christmas Eve 2005
W. is out of town visiting his family in New Orleans so I've been alone this weekend. I've spent the weekend so far migrating all my blog archives. That is now finished. I've also spent the weekend watching holiday movies. I've probably watched way too many but I do so enjoy the old holiday movies. So far this weekend I've watched:
In The Good Old Summertime
A Christmas Carol
Little Women
Going My Way
Holiday Inn
The Shop Around The Corner
Christmas In Connecticut
Meet Me In St. Louis
Every year I watch these movies and love them every time. Of course I also eat a healthy dose of popcorn while watching the movies.

Tech Purchases
I broke down and bought the iPod Nano today. I had gotten a rather nice gift card from my students and had enough on the card to buy the Nano, the docking station, and the lanyard with the earphones built in. I got the 4 Gig white model. It's very nice and so light. I can barely feel it around my neck. It holds much of my music library but it's not large enough to hold all my photos too. I know I probably should have waited to buy one until MacWorld Expo in January but I'm impatient like that.Today I also got a new phone. My service plan with Sprint had been up since August and I haven't done anything about upgrading it or getting a plan. I got a flier at work about a discount so I went to the Sprint store today and checked out all the phones. I decided to down grade the plan and not get the phone with a camera built in. Not having the camera built in, I didn't need the vision part of the service plan. So maybe my monthly bill will be a bit lower with the discount and not having the photo part. But then again it might be a bit higher. I got a second phone with a second line for the boyfriend for his birthday. But don't tell him! It's a secret! hahaha
And finally my new digital video camera arrived from Amazon today. I got the Canon Elura 85. It's an upgrade from my last camera and has a few more features I was looking for. My last camera is more then 2 years old and died a few weeks ago. For some reason it stopped recording and playing. It wasn't worth getting it fixed so I just went ahead and got a new one. I am loving the new one so far. Hopefully I'll be back to producing videos for the website soon. Maybe next week I'll have something to post.
On another note, the boyfriend is away for a week visiting his family in New Orleans. He arrived safe and I hope he is enjoying the time with his family without being too upset with the devastation around him. And of course I am missing him terribly.
One Year Ago

I met the boyfriend one year ago today. It's been a wonderful year and I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Too Weird!

I found this picture on Craig's List. There are so many things going on in this picture that I can't even imagine what he is looking for in his ad. It's amazing what people will post on the internet.
Cathedral Choral Society
On Saturday afternoon the boyfriend took me to the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. to hear the Cathedral Choral Society's holiday concert. It was called The Joy of Christmas: A Norwegian Festival. We got dressed up and walked up to the Cathedral and found our seats. The music began and we settled in and enjoyed the sounds. The chorus sang many Norwegian songs. We couldn't understand what they were singing but luckily the program had printed all the words in english. Many of the songs were eerie. I really enjoyed the orchestra that accompanied the chorus. A couple of times during the concert they played traditional holiday songs and the audiance was encouraged to sing along. The boyfriend remained silent during these times. He said he was singing loudly inside. That gave me a chuckle. We really enjoyed the view of the inside of the Cathedral while listening to the music. While the concert was going on, the sun was slowly setting and you could see the change in the stained glass as the sun got lower in the sky and eventually disappearing. I really enjoyed the stone columns and buttresses.
After the concert we went to Cafe Deluxe for dinner and enjoyed a delicious bottle of Allan Scott 2004 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. It went so well with our meals. We loved it.
We had a wonderful afternoon and evening.
Christmas Tree 2005
Last weekend I helped the boyfriend put up his Christmas tree and decorate it. Last night he inspired me to do the same. We decorated my Christmas tree while listening to Christmas music, eating some nibbles, and enjoying a bottle of wine. The presents under the tree are for the boyfriend. He was good and didn't shake them or try to guess what was inside each package. I think the tree looks beautiful. What do you think?

Snow
We had a mix of wintery weather last night. We got about 3 inches of snow and some sleet and freezing rain on top of that. It was just enough to get me out of work today. Yeah! 3 day weekend! The boyfriend is coming over later today and we are going to decorate my Christmas tree. We'll listen to Christmas music, deocrate the tree, and enjoy some wine and time together. And then tomorrow we are going to a holiday concert at the National Cathedral. Should be a nice weekend.
Changes
As you can see some minor changes are taking place here at Archerr.com. I have changed the style just slightly. But the biggest change is that I finally got rid of blogger. I am now using Tangelo for my blog. It's stand alone blogging software. I don't have to rely on blogger to post anymore. The only problem with that is that I've lost all my comments from the past. This software uses a different system for posting and all the comments are now gone. Sorry about that. I hope that you, dear reader, will continue to comment with the new system.
I am still working on getting all the archives up and that will take awhile so be patient. If you notice anything wrong with the site, please feel free to e-mail me or comment and I'll do my best to fix it.
Thank you for continuing to read my blog and comment on my postings!

Christmas Tree

This evening the boyfriend and I decorated his Christmas Tree. Here is a photo of just a small part of the tree. I love how he uses those old fashioned big lightbulbs. The treee looks beautiful.
Podcastalley
I need some help, dear readers. As many of you know I do a podcast as well as post to my blog. Each month a website called Podcastalley ranks podcasts by votes. Before there were thousands of podcasts, I ranked in the top 100 but now that there are so many I've fallen out of the top 100. I would like you to vote for my show even if you don't listen to it. Simply put your e-mail address in the box below and press vote. Don't worry, Podcastalley will not use your address for spam. They have worked hard not to become one of those sites. Once you click the vote button, you will get an e-mail asking if you actually did vote for my show. Click on the link in the e-mail and that will confirm that you voted for my show and your vote will be added. Please take a minute and do that for me, please. Thank you!
