Missing W

I haven’t had any intimate time with the boyfriend in about a week and a half. He’s had family in town and we haven’t been able to be together. I’m really missing him and his touch. I guess it’s time to get the porn and lube out.

It Is My Birthday

Today’s my 41st birthday! Happy Birthday to me!

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY MAY 29: This is the perfect time to put your heart on the line. Stellar choices make this the year you achieve beyond your aims. Over the next 10 weeks, your talent is served by commensurate desire, concentration and joy. These are the ingredients for career success and also for attracting a worthy partner. You sparkle in the eyes of a Sagittarius or a Scorpio. Your lucky numbers are: 20, 3, 14, 7 and 32.

Content

I've decided it's all about content. People crave content of all kinds. People want to read. People want to watch the news. People want to hear others talk. People want to know about other people. People want to learn. Everything we do is about content. What more can we hear, see, read, and learn?

Think about it. It's all about content. The internet provides endless amounts of content. You can find anything on the internet it seems. The news is all about content. Movies, entertainment news shows, sitcoms, dramas...it all provides some kind of content for those who crave it. I think all humans of any age crave content.

And at the same time people crave content, there are those who provide that content. Entire industries create nothing but content. Where would we be without content? Are you a producer of content or a consumer or both?

Bandwidth

A month ago I changed my storage limit and bandwidth limit. At that time I was thinking I would keep posting my podcast, ArcherRadio, through this site and I thought the 10 GB limit would be enough to do that. Then I decided to spin off ArcherRadio to it's own site, which I did. Well since then my bandwidth has been going through the roof. On this site in one month I've had 7.6 GB of bandwidth used up. I couldn't figure out why it was so high because I moved the podcast to it's own site. So I checked out my stats and it looks like there are lots of guys (or gals) checking out my nude photos. You all are checking out the naked mens more often then I thought. I'm glad you are enjoying them.

On the ArcherRadio site, the bandwidth is up to 7.1 in the month since I started it. I thought that one would get more traffic then this site since the files are much larger. And I have an RSS feed on that site. Also, I'm listed on Podcastalley.com (vote for me!) and linked on several other podcast sites. I've had a lot of traffic over on ArcherRadio but not nearly as much as I thought I would with the exposure I've had. Of course if I had reached my limit and the site was shut down, I'd be mad as hell right now. If you haven't checked out my podcast on ArcherRadio, go over there and check it out and vote for my podcast. You can do it right on that page. Thanks!

So I guess I'm happy that both sites keep getting the traffic. I'm glad people are enjoying the nude photos as well as the podcasts. I just hope I don't need to up my bandwidth limit again anytime soon. That shit is expensive!

Stem Cell Research

Today the house voted to expand the stem cell research funding. I was very pleased to hear this. This is the first bill where the republicans went against the president. Bush says he will veto this bill if it reaches his desk. I think it’s a good sign that the republicans will not back the president 100%. The bill is expected to get through the house without any problems. I think Bush should think twice about vetoing this bill. But maybe he should go ahead and veto the bill. It would put another nail in his coffin.

The medical advantages of using stem cells out ways the loss of embryos. There are some 400,000 embryos sitting around in freezers waiting to either become children or be used for research. We just need the okay to let people donate them to science. I was talking to Homer on the phone and he was telling me that his republican mother has diabetes and would love a new pancreas but she doesn’t realize that won’t happen until further research with stem cells is allowed. That’s why Homer agrees with me that this bill is a good idea. Now watch Bush fuck it up by vetoing it.

Horse Back Riding

As part of my birthday weekend (my birthday isn't until next weekend but W. will have family in town so we celebrated it this weekend) W. took me horseback riding yesterday. The weather was perfect and so was the ride. We went riding in March and the trees were bare and it was cold. Yesterday everything was green. We saw lots of wild flowers, birds, and butterflies. The ride was very relaxing and the horses were mild. In the photo you can see W. at the head of the pack. There was probably 15 people total on this ride. Luckily, we were able to ride at the front of the pack. I was right behind the leader. My view wasn't obstructed and I took several nice photos. Below you can see what the landscape was like on the ride. It was beautiful.

This ride was just one part of a wonderful birthday weekend. W. took me to get my hair cut on Saturday, which was followed by a back massage. We then went and had a wonderfully relaxing lunch. Saturday evening W. brought me a cake with candles. I made a wish and blew out the candles. Then of course we had our own dessert in the bedroom. After the horseback riding, we went to Grey Ghost winery for a nice lunch. It was a great birthday weekend. W. is a special man.

Picnic

It’s raining today. I’d rather be having a picnic on a sunny day at a beautiful winery with the boyfriend while enjoying a nice glass of wine. I’m off to his house this weekend so no update until Sunday or Monday.

My Birthday

My birthday is in 10 days. That’s right, I was born on May 29th. I’ll be 41. Having birthdays are no big deal anymore. Last year when I turned 40 my good friend David took me out to dinner. It was a nice relaxing, calm way to turn 40 without any hoopla.

This year I’m dating someone. W. says he has a birthday weekend planned for me. We are celebrating my birthday this weekend because he will have family in town next weekend and won’t be able to devote the time to me that is appropriate on my birthday. Okay, I said that but he’ll be busy so we are doing it this weekend. The only thing I know he has planned is a trip to the man spa. I’m going to get a haircut and a professional shave. I use an electric razor so I haven’t had a blade on my face in years. I hope I don’t get any nicks. I was going to get a hair cut two weeks ago but it was then he warned me about the barber experience so I’ve held off on getting my hair cut. I really need one too. It’s much longer then it usually is and it takes way to look to do in the morning. I usually keep it pretty short so I can just blow dry it and go in the morning. I’m sure after the barber experience I’ll have a beautiful do and I’ll be clean shaven. I’m looking forward to it.

So I’ve given you warning about my birthday. Start planning the gifts now. hehehe

Filibuster

If the democrats were trying to vote on a democratic President's judicial nominees would the republicans want to do away with the filibuster? I think not. Republican assholes piss me off.

Green Thumb

I don't think you can say I have a green thumb but I do have something growing on my balcony. For Christmas, a student gave me some packets of seeds. One packet was marigolds and I can't remember what was in the other packet. A few weeks ago I decided to plant the seeds to see if I could get them to grow. I've never planted anything from seeds before. I've always gone to Home Depot and bought plants already growing and simply transplanted them into the pots. So I planted the seeds and a few days ago they started breaking the surface. I just sprinkled the seeds in the dirt, pushed the dirt around a bit, and watered them. And that's what I have growing so far. You can see in the picture that I have something growing! You can also see I have a planted dwarf dahlia in the small white pot. Next to that are the marigolds and then the other plants. I don't know what they are. I guess I'll see when they begin to grow flowers. I hope they do. I hope the marigolds actually bloom too. I have the plants growing but who knows if they will actually bloom into flowers. I guess I shouldn't start scrubbing that green off my thumb until the flowers begin to appear. And I guess I'll have to learn the names of the flowers once I see what they are. I need to learn more about the plants I see and those I have growing.

Closing

The military announced the military base closings on Friday. Even though they say this list is smaller then previous lists, it seems like a lot of people will be out of work. They may not be out of work from the initial base closings but the cities and towns where these bases are located will feel their closing for years. I understand the government’s idea of saving money but in the long run they will probably spent money on the people who will loose their livelihoods in the cities and towns losing their bases.

One on the list is Walter Reed Medical Center. How sad. Walter Reed has been around for almost 100 years. In the 70’s my father went to Walter Reed for back surgery and I remember my mother taking us all to visit him while he was there. I can remember going into the ward and seeing my father in his hospital bed in a row of hospital beds. I remember we weren’t allowed to stay long. I don’t remember, but I don’t think children were allowed in to visit. I’m not sure what’s it’s like now.

A few years ago I took my mother to Walter Reed when she had her minor heart trouble. The place was very crowded and we had to wait a long time for her appointment. Her doctor treated her very well and she’s fine today.

It’s sad to think this medical center will be closed. I don’t know where they will go for their medical service but I’m sure something will be worked out before it actually closes. It makes me wonder what’s next?

Winery Tours

Today W. and I went on a few winery tours and wine tastings. We didn't have any plans today so last night after dinner we decided to plan a trip to a relatively local winery. We decided we'd go to Chrysalis Vinyards in Middleburg, Virginia. It's less then an hour away and well worth the trip. The winery couldn't be located in a more beautiful area. Middleburg is full of old money. There are lots of rich people with horse farms and expensive cars. The winery isn't but 2 miles from this very upscale small town. Middleburg is known for it's horse farms.

We took a leisurely drive to Middleburg and found the winery with no problems. We participated in their wine tasting and picked a few wines we'd like to buy. After the tasting, we bought a bottle of their 2004 Albariño and had a nice picnic on the lawn area. The picture is of W. being silly. He did have more of the wine then I did. As you see in the photo, we have a glass of their Merlot with some dark chocolate. We shared the glass instead of getting a whole bottle. After our lunch we purchased our wine and decided to get going. I ended up buying two bottles of wine to add to my collection. I bought their Albariño and a bottle of their Sarah's Patio Red. W. bought a bottle of their Chardonnay I believe. As we were finishing buying our bottles, W. decided to ask about other local wineries. There were two others close by. I was ready to head home but W. decided we should at least go to one of them since we were close.

W. said he'd give a little extra something next weekend if I take him to the other winery. I decided to take him. We ended up choosing Piedmont Vineyards. This winery is just 2 miles outside of Middleburg, Virginia. The winery is on a huge track of beautiful land. The area down there is so wonderful. W. and I both began to dream of getting rich and opening a winery in the area. Piedmont is one of the oldest wineries in Virginia. It was established in 1973. We decided to participate in their tasting and tasted all seven of the wines they were offering today. I actually didn't care for most of them. W. had a tough time picking one of their Chardonnay's to buy. He ended up with 7 glasses in front of him. Many of them were from me. I was driving so didn't want to drink much more. I just had a small taste and let him finish my glasses. He did finally end up getting one of their Chardonnay's. I actually bought a bottle as well but a milder Chardonnay. We didn't spend as much time at this winery because it was getting late in the afternoon and I had things I needed to do. So we headed home. W. was a little drunk tipsy and we laughed many times on the way home. It was a fun afternoon. We decided that we'd like to visit all of the wineries in Virginia. We've now been to 5 but I'm sure there are many more. We will have plenty of time this summer to visit many more.

Dream

I dreamed I was on a treadmill, running at 5.4 mph, on an incline and there was not stop button.

It Is Warm

The weather has been pretty mild and it took awhile for spring to arrive but now it’s warm in the DC area. It’s supposed to be 83 degrees today. I’m sure it will be higher then that. Yesterday it got up to the low 80’s. It was nice but it’s tough to sleep at night when it’s warm and the AC hasn’t been turned on in your building yet. This is that in between time. It’s still cool in the evenings but warm during the day. Usually we have to have 3 straight days of 80’s for my building to make that transition over to AC. I can’t wait. It was a bit sticky sleeping last night. I slept with the windows open but I hate that too because the pollen settles on everything and fucks up my sinus’. Every year at this time I suffer until they turn the AC on. But I know it only lasts a short time and the AC will be on soon. Then I’ll have it set at like 65 and it will be cool and pollen free in my condo.

More Changes

In the last 24 hours I have updated my system software to OS X 10.4 and made some major changes to my web sites. I decided to separate my blog from my podcats so I registered a new domain name for the podcasts. All of my podcasts will now be posted to ArcherRadio. So if you've been enjoying the podcasts and want to hear more, head over to ArcherRadio and download the latest podcast. Also, that site has an RSS Feed so you can check it in your favorite RSS Feed reader. For the blog, I will try to continue to update everyday but it seems like I've been missing the weekends lately. I'll try to get back to that soon. I will use the blog to write about anything I want of course and post lots of photos. But of course I want you to book mark ArcherRadio and listen to my podcasts.

Another Busy Weekend

It was a very busy weekend. W. made dinner Friday night and it was delicious. We recorded lots of audio on the iRiver and I had intended to create a podcast but when I went to put it all together the program I was using, Audacity, kept quiting. So I decided to wait until today to work on it.

On Saturday W. and I went to the Swiss Flower Mart at the National Cathedral. We saw lots of plants, flowers, and items to buy. I bought some soaps with wonderful aromas. Then we had high tea. It was nice. Saturday evening I made dinner for W. at my place and we gave each other pedicures and watched Bridget Jones Edge of Reason.

On Sunday we decided to walk around Old Town Alexandria. We walked all over the place and went to several shops. We walked down by the waterfront and enjoyed the views. Then we went to the Torpedo Factory and saw lots of art and artists at work. I fantasied about having enough money to have a studio there to do my art and sell my work. Ah, just a dream. On the way home we stopped at a few more stores. Then it was time to be responsible and W. went home.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day and the 60th Anniversary of VE Day.

I'll be upgrading to 10.4 Tiger this evening and tomorrow but hope to post a podcast sometime tomorrow.

Funny Photo

Here is a funny photo I took of myself last weekend at W.'s house. That's where I'll be tonight. I might try to post an entry tomorrow. It all depends on the time. If you can't wait, download the latest podcast (link below this post) and listen to it again. Sorry the audio clip is too loud (thanks for the info, Peter!). I'll work on watching the audio levels in the future. Have a great weekend!

Voice Mail

Here's another exciting episode of Archerr Radio. During this show we here some audio clips from DVD's, voice mail from Homer's trip to NYC for the big blogger event, read odd news articles from today, and talk about the weekend and cleaning my condo for the boyfriend's visit. Enjoy!

eBay Auction

A few weeks ago W. and I went to visit my artist friend, Bob. We had a great photo shoot and you've probably already seen my photos from that shoot. Bob has spent some time since that shoot creating some beautiful pieces of artwork. He is currently auctioning them on eBay. Click here to see his current listings. His artwork has been shown in several galleries and is often part of bidding wars on eBay. I encourage you to check out his latest works and see for yourself how beautiful his artwork is. I have dabbled in this type of art and have created several works myself. I hope to reach his level of success some day. He taught me everything I know about the process and has helped me develop my photography skills.

Door Dings

During this show I talk about all the podcasts I've been listening to lately and getting a ding in my car door. I also talk about various other things. I now have voice mail! You call my voice mail number and leave a message. Your message might be in my next podcast! The number is: 1-206-600-4763 And I now have a Skype name. It's archerr2. If you see me online, give me a call and we'll chat.

Flowers

On Sunday, W. and I strolled over to the National Cathedral Gardens to see all the spring flowers. We enjoyed a very nice lunch with a delicious Vidal Blanc. The weather started out chilly and cloudy but by the time we got to the gardens it was sunny and slowly warming up. After our lunch we walked through the gardens and I took lots of photos. The flowers were absolutely beautiful.

I tried unsuccessfully to install Mac OS X 10.4 for 2 hours this evening. I was too frustrated and decided to throw in the towel for tonight and start again tomorrow evening. It takes so long. It kept hanging up at the disk verification part. I was so mad. Luckily it didn't effect my computer and I was able to still do other things. I did back up my entire computer before starting so if there had been a problem I wouldn't have lost anything. I hope I won't have to call Apple tomorrow while trying again. Ugh!

Podcast #5

Here is the next edition of Archerr Radio. The majority of the show is spent talking with W. (the boyfriend) after a wonderful dinner. We are enjoying a nice bottle of wine and talking about everything from wine to sex. It's a must hear edition of the show. It also happens the be the longest show to date. Enjoy!
